Hard Work Pays Off

Have you ever had days when everything is crazy at work? It all starts happening the minute you get to the office. Your whole day is about typing things on the computer, making phone calls, and running around to get things done. You forget to have lunch because time is precious and you can’t have any distractions until you’re done. By the end of the day, you’re exhausted. All you want to do is go home and sleep. But you know you can’t do that because you still got things to do.

Boy do I know what that feels like… This year my work load has been absolutely crazy! Whenever I feel like things will calm down, it gets busy again. It’s a funny thing because even though I’m exhausted of doing so much work, I want to keep doing it. Does that make sense? I guess that’s what people call “being a workaholic.” And I am.

I absolutely love my job, especially when it gets me busy. Do you know why? Because I love the feeling of working under pressure, but my absolute favourite part is when you’re all done and your mind says “you did it.” That feeling of success is priceless.

Working hard is always exhausting and sometimes even painful. But at the end it’s worth it, don’t you think? It’s not like you’re going to get a big prize. Maybe your boss or colleagues will congratulate you. Maybe you’ll have a dinner celebration. But is it really about that? Maybe there’s something more rewarding than that, like feeling you achieved your goals and being proud of yourself. I’ve heard they call it the winning feeling. If you ask me, I think it’s the best reward you can get because you’re one step closer to being a better person. And that, for me, is how hard work pays off.

My tip for you: Next time you feel work is being a real pain because you’re exhausted, remember the winning feeling. And at the end of  your hard work, hold on to that feeling and enjoy every second of it.
